After 2 years, M8 is finally out!

Saturday, December 6th, 2008 by Peter Zhang

Since its announcement date, which is in 2006, Meizu M8, nicknamed the “Chiense iPhone”, is finally released officially. Various review websites in China and nearby regions such as PCOnline.com.cn and ePrice.com.hk have already got some sample machines to review on.

So what does it really look like? Although I don’t have a M8 myself, I will just sum up what the reviews have been talking about and talk about it here.

Inside the box, M8 comes with quite a lot accessories, including USB cable, Earphones, AC Adapter and a cleaning cloth.

Holding it in the hand.. it has about the same size as the iPhone, and the interface is definitely similar. I mean, after all, it is called the “Chinese iPhone”. It also has 8GB Internal memory, and a 1200 mAH Battery. It supports Multi-touch screen, Wi-Fi (although disabled in China version). Its camera is 3MP, but just like the iPhone, M8 still lacks some advanced things such as Macro, Flash light, etc.

It is operated on a WinCE platform, which guarantees certain number of software available on it, and also the fact that it does crash a lot. I personally have been a fan of this company’s products (although never had one). I am looking forward to this phone…

It is going to sell for 2380RMB, about US$350. The exact release date to public is unknown yet, but we know it will be soon =)
