Facebook Verified Apps… $375 for just a badge?
Friday, December 19th, 2008 by Peter ZhangFacebook releases a new program called the “Application Verification Program”. Basically, when you have finished an app, you may submit to the Facebook (optional) team to verify it, and the fee is $375. Although they claim to have a bunch of benefits that come with this program, such as $100 advertising credit, discounted registration fee on events such as f8.

It is a gret concept to start with, and I am sure a lot of app users will realy like this idea; however, I personally think the price is a little bit too overpriced. Sooner or later, the badge of “Verified App” will be a “mandatory” thing for users when it comes to allowing access. Those developers that can’t afford such a high fee will not have a chance to get a large amount of users then.
In my honest opinion, I think it is just another way for Facebook to earn more, if Advertising hasn’t earned them enough already.
