Beanstalk Subversion
Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 by Jonathan LauAre you a software developer? Web designer? Programmer? If you find yourself writing codes often, you might want to consider using subversion to track changes made to your code. This is especially useful if you are working with others in a team.
Beanstalk is a hosted Subversion system, making it easy to setup, browse, and track Subversion. Beanstalk has built-in integration with many tools such as Basecamp, FogBugz, Campfire and more.
With Beanstalk SVN, you can easily keep track of your team’s productivity. Get an overview of daily activity and keep track of changes in each project. Beanstalk SVN helps you collaborate with others, review and revert changes, and gives you the peace of mind that their code is backed up and secure.
Beasnstalk SVN allows your to browse source, compare revisions, or view recent changesets – all from a single control panel.
Beanstalk also has a feature that lets users integrate with Basecamp, FogBugz, Twitter, Campfire and Lighthouse easily and quickly. Tags could be used to manipulate cases or projects.
The free version comes with 20 MB of storage (which is more than enough for small projects), 3 users and a single repository. FTP/SFTP deployment and SSL encryption is only available for paid subscriptions starting at $15 per month.
Out of all the free SVNs I have tried so far, I would have to say Beanstalk has the most beautiful, simple, yet easy to use interface. Definitely a good choice for small projects!
