Windows 7 Beta is now available for download!

Sunday, January 11th, 2009 by Peter Zhang

Microsoft has officially announced the availbiliy of download of Windows 7  Beta. It is now completely legal to download and install Windows 7. From the download page, the requirements are absolutely impressive, and if I reckon, it is much less than Windows Vista. Good job!

Minimum recommended specs call for:

  • 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • 1 GB of system memory
  • 16 GB of available disk space
  • Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
  • DVD-R/W Drive
  • Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates)

This Beta expires on August 1, 2009, so you still have some time to play with it. Anyway, I am not going to continue and talk about useless stuff, download it at this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx

Oh, here is a wonderful comic from XKCD talking about Windows 7:
